Rationale
 The Rationale behind the Green Leader labelling program is simple: Provide companies with the necessary marketing materials to show their clients, employees, and stake holders that the company has undertaken true measures to reduce their impact on the planet by conserving energy, water and reducing the amount of waste created. Throughout the process, companies will find that they save money through reduced energy bills, create increased sales by having environmentally labelled products, and increase positivity around the workplace through good corporate citizen behaviour.
Various accreditation levels are offered to enable companies to select the level of resource reduction that is achievable without putting the success of the company at risk. As each stage is met, the initiative enables companies to strive for higher levels of resource use reduction so they can ultimately achieve the highest level being Green Leader: International.
