Rules and Regulations
Any company 1 from any industry globally may qualify to be a certified Green Leader by paying an upfront annual membership fee of 0.1% of annual sales. The minimum membership fee is US$1000.00 The maximum fee payable is $50,000.
There are 4 accreditation levels achievable within the Green Leader certification system with each reflecting varying degrees of contribution towards energy reduction and resource conservation:
1. Green Leader Member
2. Green Leader: Local
3. Green Leader: National
4. Green Leader: Global
All companies start off as Green Leader Members, a temporary membership level while they undergo the auditing and improvement process. Companies are supplied with Green Leader Member marketing materials as soon as they apply and arrange payment. Once reduction targets are met at the end of the first year, companies are able to then qualify to one of the three levels of accreditation based on their specific reductions in resource use. The accreditation is valid for 2 years and then needs to be re-applied for.
